Excellence Scholarships of the University of St.Gallen

Excellence Scholarships are granted to foreign students enrolled in Bachelor studies at the University of St.Gallen on the basis of merit.

These grants are awarded yearly to students in the Assessment Year, which will be paid out over a period of three years.

The scholarship amount is tantamount to the current tuition fees at the Bachelor’s Level (which runs to six semesters). At present, a grantee receives an annual sum of CHF 6 258.‒ (this corresponds to a scholarship of CHF 18 774.‒).

International applicants with internationally recognised relevant educational qualifications and certificates, successful passing of the University of St.Gallen’s internal admission test

Exceptional students are identified by the Advice Center for Study Funding on the basis of their results at the internal admission test.

Students are then asked to submit additional documents in a timely manner (see online form). A committee chooses the respective scholarship holders by the End of August 2020.

Criterias during the study include that the bachelor’s degree has to be completed without any delays, as far as they are not conditioned by the studies. Further, while the first installment is paid directly after starting the studies in the autumn.

In the following years, the second and third installments are pendent on a specified average grade.

Starr International Foundation Scholarship Fund

The Starr International Foundation Scholarship Fund is set aside for highly talented foreign-language students with a recognised foreign Bachelor’s degree who are completing a Master’s degree in one of the English-language programmes:

  • Strategy and International Management (SIM)
  • Quantitative Economics and Finance (MiQE/F)
  • International Affairs and Governance (MIA)
  • Banking and Finance (MBF)
  • Marketing Management (MiMM)
  • Economics (MEcon)
  • International Law (MIL)
  • Finance and Accounting (MAccFin)
