International Student Scholarship Whitworth University

Whitworth University offers generous academic scholarships to incoming first-year students. There is no scholarship application. Instead, these scholarships are offered to students based on the following criteria:

Students from non-English speaking countries

High school weighted GPA and the standardized test score submitted for admission (e.g. SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) *
A-Levels or IB exam scores (applicable to students from a Cambridge or IB curriculum high school)
Students from approved English-speaking countries
High school transcript & weighted GPA (for Canadian and U.S. applicants)
High school transcript & national exam (for Australian and New Zealand applicants)
A-Levels or IB exam scores (applicable to students from a Cambridge or IB curriculum high school)

Approved English-speaking Countries List

Antigua, Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Federated States of Micronesia, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Seychelles, South Africa, St. Kitts-Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, and US Virgin Islands

  • Students who submit more than one of the above exams will be offered scholarships based on the highest exam grades they have submitted. For students submitting more than one SAT / ACT exam, we will use the superscore – the highest combination of subscores from each test.

2021-22 Academic Scholarships: Up to $ 28,000 per year

Listed on this page are the amounts of academic scholarship awards offered to international first-year undergraduate students based on GPA and / or test scores, depending on the individual type of test. Eligible tests include any one of the following: SAT, ACT, IB exams, GCE A-Level Exams, TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo English Test (DET). If you have taken more than one of these exams, we will base your award on the highest test result. These scholarships are renewable for up to four years of study.

Mind & Heart Scholarship: Up to $ 28,000 per year
3.75 GPA and 1420 SAT / 30 ACT
Presidential Scholarship: Up to $ 25,000 per year
4.0 GPA regardless of test scores or 3.75 GPA AND 1330 SAT / 28 ACT
Trustee Scholarship: Up to $ 22,000 per year
3.9 GPA * regardless of test scores OR 3.6 GPA * AND 1280 SAT / 27 ACT
Whitworth Scholarship: Up to $ 20,000 per year
3.5 GPA * regardless of test scores 1220 SAT / 25 ACT

Cambridge A-Level Exam
Mind & Heart Scholarship: Up to $ 28,000 per year

Presidential Scholarship: Up to $ 25,000 per year

Trustee Scholarship: Up to $ 22,000 per year

International Baccalaureate Higher-Level Exams
Mind & Heart Scholarship: Up to $ 28,000 per year
3 higher-level exams with grades of 7,7,7 or 7,7,6
Presidential Scholarship: Up to $ 25,000 per year
3 higher-level exams with grades of 7,6,6 or 7,6,5
Trustee Scholarship: Up to $ 22,000 per year
3 higher-level exams with grades of 6,6,6 or 6,6,5
Whitworth Scholarship: Up to $ 20,000 per year
3 higher-level exams with grades of 6,5,5 or 5,5,5

TOEFL / IELTS / DET
Mind & Heart Scholarship: Up to $ 28,000 per year
GPA equivalent to 3.75 / 4.0 and 103+ TOEFL, 7.5 IELTS or 125+ DET
Presidential Scholarship: Up to $ 25,000 per year
GPA equivalent to 4.0 and / or 96-102 TOEFL, 7.0 IELTS or 120 DET
Trustee Scholarship: Up to $ 22,000 per year
GPA equivalent to 3.6 / 4.0 and 88-95 TOEFL, 6.5 IELTS or 110-115 DET
Whitworth Scholarship: Up to $ 20,000 per year
GPA equivalent to 3.6 / 4.0 and 79-87 + TOEFL, 6.5 IELTS or 105 DET
